D15 diesel glowplug

Just bought a D15 diesel over the phone. Salesman said the glow plugs were bad. Anyone know anything about what type of glowplug, how many and where I might find them?

I think Dale is right. No glow plugs but a heater in the intake manifold. I have a D-17 diesel and that is it's setup. Those heaters don't last as long as the tractor and it isn't unusual. Mine doesn't work either. The D15 should start if temp is over 45F. Below that temp, it may need help. There is a plug on the side of the intake manifold that is designed for spraying into the intake. Don't use starting fluid as misuse could destroy the engine. I use gasoline and have good results in cold weather. I simply remove the plug, spray a little gas in the manifold (couple of pushes on a old windex bottle) and get on the tractor and crank it up. Usually one application is sufficient. Starting fluid is too volitile and can blow a hole in the piston if too much gets in the cylinder. Gasoline is not only less volitile, it has less expansion during burning than the starting fluid. Too much of either one is bad but gas is the lesser of evils and helps a lot in cold weather.

The D175 engine had no provisions for glow plugs. They did have an intake manifold heater, maybe that's what he's talking about. Good luck!
