not to hard to do. Did it to build our first 190 puller, using a d19 chassis. You'll need the tractor front cover and parts though, and 190 frame rails make it easier too. to make it look stock could be done, just gonna take some time.

Front cover from which tractor and what radiator do you use? What about the front bolster? What about the injector pump linkage?

ANON, Are you thinking of dong something like that with your D19? If I could, I would like to put a simms pump engine into my 19 and retain the old style look. Otherwise you would have to figure out how to put 180 hood, fuel tank and grill on it. Then go with the flat fenders too. JC

My neighbor has one and we have discussed this changeover a few times since the 301 is a little easier to find parts for. I would like to see him keep it origional but there are some concerns with the block and some cracks. He found a 230 gas engine that the block is good and we thought about swapping all the diesel components into that block. We also figured that if he goes with the 301, we could use early 190 adapter plate at the trans and figure out the front mounts after it is bolted in.Then worry about the radiator and throttle linkage.
