C Light Switch Resistor

When I took my C apart I took the light switch off, and now I see the resistor on the back is damaged. The switch worked when I took it off. Anyone have any info where to buy the resistor and maybe part no. I thought maybe Radio Shack but I need the info to try there. I replied to a previous post where to buy a new one. Any help would be appreciated.

We have the replacement resistors for your switch if you need it. We also have an exchange program on the switches too. Drop us a line if ya need anything. Be glad to help ya out....

the resistor does not make the light switch work. the resistor is connected to the field "F" terminal on the 6 volt generator and the other side of resistor is conected to ground thru the switch. When the lights are on you have "full gound". when the lights are off you have a partial ground (thru the resistor) and you get less amperage charge. you dont need the resistor if you have a 12 volt system, or if you always have lights on. you can just put in a "BIG" 3 ohm resistor if you wish. if you ground the F wire all the time you have 8 amp charge continuous. o.k. for an hour at a time, buit dont run 8 hours this way
