DOES THE TRANSMISSION AND THE PTO GEAR BOX AND HYDRAULIC PUMP ALL SHARE THE SAME FLUID? ALSO IS THIS FLUID 20 WEIGHT HYDRAULIC OIL?

The manual specification for the oil in the Transmision/hydraulic pump and the engine is 20 weight. The transmision/hydraulic pump should be non-detergent to prevent foaming in the hydraulic system. I've been using 20 non-detergent in the rear and sometime 30 in the engine. I have only found one store that carries 20 weight.

THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. THE REPAIR MANUAL THAT I HAVE HAS VERY LIMITED INFORMATION IN IT. I NEED TO GET A MORE DETAILED ONE AND ALSO AN OWNERS MANUAL WOULD BE VERY USEFUL. THANKS AGAIN. BOB

The transmission and the PTO do share fluid. I have not yet found written info to tell you what type of fluid to use. I have been using 20 weight oil and have had no problems. I have used the tractor to rake alot of hay and it seems to like it.

On the clutch side of the tractor in about the middle of the differential is a plug. You add fluid there.
