I have been told to put d-17 pistons and sleeves in my 45, that it would give it more hp. But I look at yt parts page and to buy new sleeve and pistons are the same for 45"s and d-17"s. So how could there be a differenc when they both have the same?

WD-45 had 6.5 to 1 compression...

D-17 had 7.2 to 1 compression...

There should be a different kit number for each..

i would guess the old WD45 "parts" were upgraded to the D17 kit and the original are not available at most aftermarket. Think about it, why wuold you want a 6 to 1 compression WD45 now a days. Even the original D17 is low for todays standards.----- same thing with the B and C and CA motors. you cant get the original bore anymore. all are upgraded to a "new" kit.
