i got an allis wd45. I noticed the radiator has oil mixed witht the anti freeze. What does this mean? I can pull out the oil dip stick and the oil is not white. Hopefully the head or block is not cracked.. anybody out there knows what is wrong, drop me a line..

If you're lucky, there's nothing wrong at all. If the coolant is just milky looking, it's entirely possible that what you see is soluble oil. The most common use for the stuff is in machine shops (mixed with water) to cool parts being cut or machined, but it works great in a cooling system to control rust problems and lube the water pump. Try draining and flushing the cooling system, refill and then keep an eye on it.

Retorque your headbolts. Maybe they weren't seated-in properly the last time the head was off. Might be enough to fix it, for a while at least. Follow the instructions in the repair manual.

I had this same problem on an 8N, which I found out is very common for that model after researching archives on 8N board here. Turned out to be a bad head gasket. Replaced, flushed coolant system, oil has not returned.

Same problem as you, oil into coolant, but not vice versa. At first, I was quite alarmed when I found it in the 8N, as there was quite a bit of oil showing in top of radiator. This is where this board can be such a great research tool. My research revealed this to be a common problem and the common remedy was head gasket replacement. Turned out to be a pretty cheap fix, other than my time put into it.

'Course we"re talking flatheads versus OHV's, but that is the first place I"d look for a remedy. Good Luck with it!
