D17 IV loader

I am looking for any opinions on having a new frontend loader installed. It looks like Brush Hog,Farmhand,Koyker and Woods all make one to fit my tractor. I am going to be useing the loader what I would consider lite to med duty nothing full time but am not interested in a trip bucket. Anyone have any bad experiences with the loader brands mentioned or the D17 IV tractor for loader work. The tractor is a 6 lug wide frontend gas burner in great shape.

I purchase a GB330 loader for my D-17 IV made well bolted right on cleared my 10 acres with it never had a problem. Well made.Great Bend is the manufacture purchased thru International dealer. More reasonablely priced than others.

Todd, If your D17 is a series IV then you don't need to install an additional pump. The factory pumps 10-12 gpm which is more than adequate to operate a loader. If the tractor has two hydraulic remotes it will not be necessary to add any spool valves. The three point hitch works independent of the remotes. Suggest you purchase a heavy duty loader regardless of brand, and one that has two cylinders for the bucket. You may have a need in the future for forks so keep that in mind with your purchase. Some manufacturers have quick-hitches so changing the bucket to forks is not difficult. Tom

Front mount pump, power down and also make sure its a heavy dury loader, lite one are ok but believe me you will end up brakeing it if its not a heavy duty one.

Make sure you get one with an auxillary pump and valve that drives off the front of the crankshaft because it will keep your remote valves freed up to use with rear attachments.
