I have a 1954 CA and third gear keeps jumping out. I would like input on this as well as where I can get the gears and shifting yoke to repair this? Thanks

I have a '55 CA and had the same problem. Thought I was going to have to split the tractor. But on a hunch I swapped out the shifter mechanism with a parts tractor I have.(the metal plate on the side of tranny holds all the shifter stuff). Problem was solved! Don't know how long it will last though, I've been told our CA's have a problem with third gear due to the way the gear is cut.

Those parts are available from AC, but when tearing it down you will likely find the teeth on the engagement collar (shift coupling) will be worn also-- this shift coupling also serves reverse gear, and it , too, is available from AC. But the shift coupling alone is around $950. The parts cost much in excess what the tractor is worth. Also be careful when purchasing parts, as there is a fine internal spline set of gears, and a coarse internal spline set of gears, and never the two shall swap. Good luck.
