What type of engine oil is the best??
I am going to use Quaker State 10w30 and I needs to know if this is too heavy for the cold season
because sometimes the temperature is very low where I live

you should never use engine oil in the hydraulic system. just go buy good hydraulic oil at the local TSC. there are generally some metal on metal parts inside hydraulic pumps, and without oil, they will be destroyed. my grandpa messed up with our kubota, used engine oil as hydraulic oil. it destroyed the pump, and took me a day and a half to replace.

Don"t use any engine oil in the hydraulic system. The dteregent used in the engine oil will foam under the high hydraulic system pressure and you"ll have a reservoir of foam and no hydraulics at all. Use something like #10 non-dteregent oil for the winter season or else get universal hydraulic or trans-hydraulic oil. Any one of these three oils can be purchased from a farm supply store.

10-30 should be good in the hydrolics of the WD.. It may be a little slow until it warms up..at 10 degrees..but it does warm up..!! That is about the ONLY place I would use Quaker State oil..there and on an open cutter-bar...!! Castrol for ME..!!...If I want it to last..!! 5-30 might be good, if it gets below zero a lot, but then you would want it in the engine too at that temperature..!! I have seen Castrol survive temperatures that MELTED the plug-wire ends off the sparkplugs..!!! (and that engine ran good for years afterward).!! It had blown a radiator hose while set on the "fast Idle cam" and ran until the plug wires burnt off...!!! I was there when this happened...we were working away from it and it sure should have been seized...!!
