I can say on the archive but you might try the new site search but... Aside from normal front wheel bearing and spindle bushing problems the C and CA have two places where the play can cause wobble. One is easy and one is tough. The steering gear/box is easy but the gear assembly in the front support is more difficult because you must remove the radiator. Do you have a lot of play in the steering wheel such that your steering box is loose or does the play seem to be in the front gear. The drag link and steering wheel wont be involved if it is the front gear. The steering box adjustment is accomplished with the screw/lock nut assembly on the steering gear box in the tool box (sheet metal tank support) under the tank. This adjustment simply pushes the "peg" deeper into the worm to make up for wear. For me this has always worked. If the adjusment does not fix it, the "peg" in that rides in the worm gear may be worn beyond service. I have had new ones welded in (though not on a C but on a similar Ross Gearbox for a MH Pony). If that gearbox is not indicated then you may have to remove the hood, grill and radiator and check the front gear and bearing. It is straightforward but I have never had to fix one. When you remove the radiator mount, it is immediately evident how it works and how to remove the bearing. If the bolt holding it together were loose, the bearing were shot, or the the front steering arm had lateral play, it would induce wobble. : A while back I remember quite a discussion re correcting front end play in a c. Can someone refresh this info. as it is no longer available unless the ac bulletin board has the archive feature?
