hey fellas Im new too the ac world but just bought a ca nice little machine my question is it is a 52 and it has milky oil does the ca have the freeze out plugs on head like wds. Im going to tear it down this month. hoping for easy fix. THANKS

i have a 42 c, when i got it there was no rain cap and milky oil. i changed the oil and filter in it when i got it home and it has been fine since, and that was about 12 years ago ( when i first changed the oil, been changed many times since )

When I looked at my CA before purchasing it there was ice in the pan and the oil was milky. It had a home made muffler with no rain cap on it. The bottom of the muffler was also rounded so that water followed the pipe into the manifold There was water in the exhaust manifold. I fitted a correct muffler (Cheap from TSC,) with a rain cap and changed the oil and filter twice. It has been fine every since. I would try changing oil and filter a couple of times before I tore anything apart. Use a Fram C159 filters. Others may not provide back pressure.

hey allisdan That is about the same thing I discovered all water had entered thru pour fitting exhaust with JBweld around it for gasket.Changed oil twice and so far no milk.But the carberator is a mess which you can quess.Thanks guys for your support.Nice to know theres alot of tractor nuts

freeze plugs in the head under the rocker shaft, or o-rings on the piston sleeves in the block. pull the valve cover and look at the top. remove the pan and see if water is dripping off the liner bottoms. do this prior to overhaul to get a good idea. cracked block is possible, but hopefully less common.
