Allis Chalmers tractors - need to sell

We would like to sell both of my grandfather's Allis Chalmers tractors. (Circa approx. 1942 and 1950) We live near Cleveland, Ohio and don't know where to begin to advertise that these are for sale. We'd like someone in the area to look at them, rather than post them on a national website, since we don't know what our asking price should be. Any suggestions?

I would look at them and give you idea of what they maybe worth. I'm not aloud to buy any right now, Mrs'ss said NO MORE TRACTORS , I have a small fleet of AC and more Garden Tractors Most need Worked on.

Identify which models you have, get their serial numbers to determine age. Check for any equipment that goes with them. Check local ads for prices of same models, condition. Check with local farmers for advice, magazine sources with ads, etc. Dealer prices are higher than direct sales because they need to stand behind their product. You sell as-is.

If the tractors can be put in running condition without a lot of money - do so.

Check the tractor photos to the left for identification and serial numbers - year of manufacturer.

You can also search this site and others for prices. This will give you an idea of their selling price. However, the price that same tractor sells for varies greatly in different parts of the country.

Another suggestion - try the local auctioneers - they will be able to give you a very good estimate of what the tractor(s) will sell for at auction.
