Lift won't lower on CA

I have been working on hydraulic pump for days on a Mod CA, finally got the pump working but the lift will not lower. Went through all the set up proceedures, still won't lower without bleeding the fluid through the aug. cylinder port. Any suggestions please.

These are one-way systems, pressure up only, that rely on the weight of the implement to lower when you put the handle back down. How much weight do you have to apply for that to happen, or does it not go down even if you stand on the arms?

No matter how much weight I put on it it will not go down, the only way to get it down is to bleed the fluid out the aux. port.

Well you pretty much maxed out my expertise in the area - I was hoping it was something simple. From your other posts it looks like you have done the usual rebuild which should take care of most problems. Assuming you accounted for all the balls & springs by matching them up with a service manual diagram and did not just trust what you found, you need someone with experience with that specific problem to step up here. You might try searching the archives of this discussion board with the phrase 'CA hydraulics' (if you haven't already). Something there might point the way. Good luck.
