My Dad is looking at buying a CA. He asked me some questions about it but Im not that familiar with ACs, so I thought I would ask the experts. Do all CAs have hydraulics?? Are they "live" or "dead" ?? Thanks!

the hand clutch on the axle is "dry" and therefore acceptable to wear over the years. check how the clutch works and if it slips prior to purchase. The WET clutch on the WD45 or D series is stronger, if you want a newer tractor. I agree the CA is a nice tractor, as is the B and C. CA is only one with hand clutch, and be sure it dont slip.

Yes hydraulics were standard on the CA. The "live" hydraulics came from the operation of the hand clutch. Foot clutch would disengage everything. Hand clutch would only disengage axel drive - forward or reverse, pto and hydraulics still work. Powerfull tractor for its size.
