D-19 value?

I have a D-19 gas. It is in decent shape, turns over , but does not run. I don"t see many of these around. Wondering if anyone had an idea of the value. I have found a running diesel engine to put in it, but don"t have any idea of a value for the engine. I don"t have much experience with Allis equipment, but would like to "restore" this one.This tractor was bought new by my grandpa, and my kids and I are working on it. Hoping someone can help.

Northside Salvage in Red Bud, Il. specialize in A.C. There phone nos. are 618-282-2477 or 618-282-2455. I know nothing about them but they advertise in Fastline.

Try to get you hands on a Fastline magazine and you can find dealers in your area or a neighboring state. I see a big AC guy advertise in there from Kansas that will be able to UPS you parts as needed. Here on east coast a gas could bring from $1800 to $3500 and a diesel from $2500 to $4000.

Around here D-19s do not bring much. Most D-17s bring more. I have seen usable gas D-19s go for less than $2000. Of course a real good one would bring more as would a decent diesel. Don't know the value of the diesel engine but my neighbor has both a gas and diesel D-19s. After overhauling the Diesel engine the rear end failed so he swapped the diesel engine into the gas model that was due for an overhaul. You must swap more than the engine. You will need a diesel radiator, gas tank battery boxes and various other parts. Of course if you can get the whole diesel tractor you will have all of the parts that you need.

What area are you in?
I'm in central IL. Not many Allis tractors around this area. Where is a good spot to find parts for these.

Glad to help. I"m in SE IN, near Cincinnati. ACs are kind of common here because there was a local dealer for many years. Parts, around here at least, are not too hard to find at salvage yards. Alternatively, there are salvage yards online that will ship parts to you. Try the links on this site or ask others on the AC page. I use vintage Fords and do not keep current on AC parts sources.
