I need help with CA hydraulic Pump, please

I purchased a Mod CA, Hydraulic pump wouldn't work, cleaned it up, ordered a repair kit for it. the kit contained gaskets, piston springs and seals for the drawbar controll an "o" ring or two for the hold position valve. this was from an AGCO dealer. I installed all of those parts. Put the pump back on and it still don't work. I removed the pump again and pulled out the unloader valve. The ball was missing or I lost it. I think it was missing. I noticed in the repair manual that the ball and stem had to be a matched set. I called the local AGCO dealer, he said he could order a kit for me, $265. I thought that was a little redicilous for a ball, stem and a couple of "o" rings. I found a rebuilt pump in Walts catalogue for $290 and ordered it. I just got word that Walt's supplier didn't have any cores to built from and they cancelled my order. Any advice PLEASE!!!!!

Pat, are you engaging the PTO before you try to use the hyd. lift? My recollection of our old CA is that you had to have the PTO turned on to use the hyd. Good luck!
