Couple of D 14 questions

I have the operators manual for my D14 but it does not show me what gauges are on the right side of the instrument panel. Mine are so rusted out I can not read anything. Left side has amp meter on top, oil pressure on bottom, which is which on the right side?

My other question is, I recently changed all the fluids and I need to know how to check the oil level in the wet clutch case(power director). I would assume I screw the filler plug all the way in to check or do I rest the threads on top? There is at least an inch difference depending on whether the dip stick is screwed in or not.

Thanks

Terry
Right side has traction booster gauge on bottom and water temp on top.
As far as checking power director, I always thread the dipstick in till it is finger tight

I have a 1957 D14 I am doing, serial #2573. I also have a parts tractor if you need some parts. I am going to tear it down this weekend as I need all the trans gears. Let me know if I can help

To Don, Re: parts in reply to Don Dittmar, 11-01-2004 08:56:44
Thanks for the info Don.

My tractor is pretty much all there, I have all the tin, and it's in good shape. The tractor runs and drives well.

I do need parts, the four gauges to be exact. I'm not overly concerned about the booster gauge but the only gauge that works right now is the amp meter and it's not the original gauge.

The gas gauge isn't working either but that may just be a linkage thing inside the tank, not sure, I'm a tractor newbie.

Let me know.

Thanks
Terry

The gas gauge is nothing more than a cork float attached to an arm inside the tank. Mine was in-op also, and I found the little gears in there were slipping on the sahft. A little jb weld fixed that right up. Pull your old one out and you will see what i am talking about. I dont know waht type of shape the gauges on my parts tractor are in. I will have to check and get back with you. Go to normastoys.com and they can set you up with aftermarket reproductions, roughly 45$$ each. The tach/hourmeter is quite pricey though. keep me posted. i will help in any way possible. always nice to help the new guys, we were all there once

If Terry passes on the TractionBooster gauge, I might be interested. I think it would be the same as on a D17
