Sequence for tightening is from the center to the ends, alternating side to side as well. Generally undertorque equally the first time around, then go to final specs. I don't have the lbs or lash for you.

Did some checking- knew I had an I&T manual for my D17, but it also includes D15 data. Assume the '54 model was a misprint, since the D-Series came out later- that's ok. Valve lash is this for a non-diesel: Intake, .008-.010. Exhaust is .014-.016. Valves are set hot. Head torque sequence is a bit different from what I said- although I've always followed the same pattern- you crunch it down in the middle and squish the pressure to both ends, alternating from side to side, and do it in two steps. Never lost an engine while following that pattern! Here is what the book says- tighten to 80-85 foot-lbs., retighten to the same after reaching operating temperature. Sequence is this: Draw a picture, with the plugs on the right, #1 bolt is at the center, on the right. 2 is on the left. North is towards the radiator. 3 is first bolt to the SE, 4 is to the NE, 5 is NW, 6 is SW. 7 is further SW, 8 is NW, N of 5. 9 is furthest NE, 10 is furthest SE, 11 is furthest SW, 12 is furthest NW. Or buy the manual for $20.
