I have been searching around the web for specs on the Allis B....looking at one on this board for sale, wondering if all the Bs came standard with hydraulics of any kind....I know you can purchase the worksaver 3pt conversion, just curious what I might be getting into with the earlier models...the one I am reading about has hand start only.

the B started production in 1937 and ran for 20 years. 1937 is an old ball. 1938-40 had hand brakes and many had pto, most did not have hydraulics or electric start.--- couple years of transision, then by 1942 most had starter and generator, but quite a few still no hydrualics. The "C" went into production in 1940 and they upgraded the BE motor to bigger bore and used it in the B and C as a CE motor. same motor for the next 18 years.
---very nice little tractor, get one with electric starter and hydraulics if you can. hydraulics are a small pumpand lift cylinder that works off the transmission oil, low volumn, high pressure, but it is adequate for most small jobs. it can run a 3 point hitch setup. dont have more than 1 or 2 quart oil capacity for the hydraulics. not live hydraulics, pump stops when you push in the motor clutch.

Hey Steve,
I picked up a "39 model B about 2 months ago which I"m about ready to start restoring. So far it"s a fun little tractor. Mine"s a hand start too and I"m looking forward to restoring it. All mine had was a pto to drive a mower belt, but the lift is mechanical. Not much in the way of bells & whistles.

Hydraulics were avialable on the later models. Electric start also. Email me for a link to a page with very complete specs. There is a link on this site for serial number lookup that will provide some information.
