D15 II, transverse brake shaft lubrication

I'm working on a D15 series II with brakes that wont release properly. I've narrowed it down to friction on the shaft that runs transversely underneath the torque housing to connect the left brake pedal to the left brake actuation rod, as all other parts move smoothly. I can't find any grease fittings on the pivot housing, so the only way to grease it is apparently to remove it and rub grease on it. The problem is I can't get the levers off either end of the shaft to push it through. They seem to be held in place by roll pins, but I can't get either one to budge. This is not covered anywhere in my manual (I&T) Any advice? Thanks in advance

The roll pins should come out. The main thing is to use a good punch, medium hammer and stay straight on to it.

The shaft / weldment on my D17 is not lubed either, but there ARE bushings inside at the ends.

The shaft showed some wear in the area where the bushings are, so I just removed the left-hand bellcrank and turned the shaft 180� and reattached.

I don't plan on putting zerks in, although there's no reason not to.

Guess they just figgered that the relatively infrequent use and such low turning rate would not require any lube; the bushings would suffice.

I would think any type of penetraing lubricate would work.

I was really hoping to get the shaft out so I could put some zerks in the pivot. Do the pins just drive out or do I need some kind of fancy tool/technique to remove them?
