I have a problem with my allis C. It runs for a while and then just spits and sputters then just dies. It has had its carb redone and a rebuilt magnetio last year. I was wondering is if anybody could help me fix this problem. THanks

Make sure your fuel cap is venting.

Brandon, I had a similar problem on one of my WD's. It would just mysteriously stop in use. Let it sit for a half hour and you could go some more. My problem ended up being dirt in the tank. I couldn't get it perfectly clean so I did as Rod suggests and put a tube in the top of the fuel bowl which made it draw gas a half inch from the bottom rather than on the bottom. It solved my problem. I think the tube was 1/4"OD copper and an inch long.

Rod's riser works well. If you can't find the right size metal tube, use small diameter plastic. Pushes in easily and stays there.

Hi Brandon,

Are you sure it is not moisture in the fuel? I always had a similar problem with my B that was caused by condensation in the fuel tank. The B has a poor tank connection that is at the low point with no separate drain. Everything that collects at the bottom of the tank gets routed to the fuel bowl. I suspect the C is the same way. I fixed my problem by installing a riser on the fuel bowl:

I also added a separate drain valve to drain off anything that collects at the bottom of the tank, below the riser inlet. I have never had a problem since.

Had a problem similar to this on my B. It turned out that trash (rust, etc.) was getting over the gas hole in the bottom of the tank and cutting off the fuel supply. After it sat for a while enough gas would seep through for it to run a little longer and then it would die again.

Had the exact same problem with my 41 C also. Cleaned out the tank and went to my local Suzuki motorcycle dealer and bought a tank repair kit I think that Napa or Carquest alos handles these kits. This kit lines the inside of the tank to keep it from rerusting. Has worked for 10 years now. Still trying to fing enough time to restore the 41 C. By the way its # 552. Going to add the line to fuel bowl as I still encure water in the fuel when it get rained on and not in the shop.
