Hi, My b is running well after rebuild, Pushrods were a little noisy, so I took dome cover off to adjust and noticed that the #2 cylinder's pushrods and rockers were prety dry, I oiled them before I started it, but after mabey 20min of running thats what I found. Oil pressure is right in middle of gauge. Is this normal? also, how taght are yall tightening the pushrods? I went with spining freely with .003 up or down play with oil on them cold. thanks
joe

Book says .010 between the rocker arm and valve stem. I set mine at .012 snug. just able to slide the feeler gage out after the adjustment lock nut is locked. The push rods are solid and has nothing to do with oiling the rockerarm assembly.
If you had oil at number 4 and 3 rockers you probly do have a worn out assembly.

the rocker shaft is hollow. the small oil line from the pump tee up to the head pushes oil thru the rear rocker shaft "stud" and then down to each arm. if you got something stuck in the hollow shaft, or a pinched little tube up to the head, or a big "leak" around the rockers on 3 and 4, then you would have less oil to 1 and 2.

The rocher shaft was pretty worn down on the underside, so I fliped it over, Im not too clear on the exact path of the oiling system but mabey the gaps on top of the rocker shaft and rocker arm bushings is preventing oil from getting to the ends of the arms?

jpuleo, there is a stud that holds the rocker arm down that has a groove in it that allows oil to enter the rock shaft. You may have inadvertantly put it in the wrong place. It should be in the rear stud position with the groove facing the tee the oil travels in. Dale
