Draw bar on a '39B

So I have a rebuilt '39B that I use mostly for mowing.... I was thinking about digging some bushes out... I got the tractor instead and a rope and pulled them out via the drawbar. My question is there supposed to be some connecting rods between the drawbar and seat frame? I have seen photos with and with out them.... I think it would make it stronger... Anyone have a set???

And that is a C drawbar but still was special equipment for both B"s and C"s.

The braces that you have seen were provided with the BC Mower. They were used to stabilize the drawbar so the mower belt tension would not vary by weight placed on the drawbar, or under a hard pull. I have two B's and a C. I do not find it necessary to use the braces except when the mower is mounted.

Mine has threaded rod. Don"t know what was originally used, but the threaded rod works good, and it"s easy to get..... ..Stan
