I am trying to find out about an old CA tractor. the serial # I have does not match what I can find on the internet. It is CE88221G. The Dealers parts catalog is dated Aug.1960. We also have the operating instructions and parts illustrations all for a CA tractor. I am not a tractor person nor do I really want to be, I like my horses!! I bought this for my Dad to restore and now that he is retired he is much to busy to restore anything! Before I advertise it I would like to know what I am selling. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I want to thank all of you for your input. It is a C not a CA and the serial #59742 tells me it is a 1948. It sure would look cute all fixed up setting next to our big farm tractors!! Well, we will see. Thanks again!

a C whould be an older tractor, 3 speed transmission, with a CE motor and originally a bench seat.--- the CA would be a lat 1950s tractor witha 4 sped transmission, CE motor, and originally a pan seat. CA might have a hand clutch on the rear axle shaft, and power adjust rear wheels.

Jan, Are you sure that you have a CA. The engine serial # that you listed, matches a 1948 C. If you look around the gearshift lever on the clutch pedal side, you should find the tractor serial #. If it starts with a C, it will be a C, or a CA it will be that. I hope that this helps! Robbie

You obviously bought the tractor without knowing anything about it, why do you need to know now that you are going to sell it?

I knew my husband use to use it way back when and it was part of my father-in-laws estate auction. But perhaps you are right if anyone wants to know more about it I can just say "I don't know". Thanks anyway.
