does any one know of a way of checking the points and condenser in a mag? or the coil other than the spark at the plug? Hate to buy a coil if the condenser is bad.thanks Sam

Sam,
We do a lot of F/M mag rebuilding and the only way really to check the operation of condensors and coils is with a condensor and coil tester. I have one getting repaired at present because it's an old unit, but when it's working, it works great for testing mag coils and condensors putting them under load. As for the points, I check those when I run the mag on the machine once they're all assembled. HTH.
