I purchased an RC, and the starter rod, choke rod, and amp meter box is missing. Could anyone tell me how they mount or where they go? Any help sure would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. The S/N is 3705. I took your advise and took some pictures of a WC. The choke rod on the WC goes to a shaft below the gas tank, thru the support, and then another rod goes just below the steering wheel. The starter rod is as you described with the pig tail but the WC connection for the starter rod is on the opposite side than that of the RC. Maybe I can find an older RC to look at. Thanks again.

Hi;

What you describe for the WC choke rod sounds different than what I have on my RC. Perhaps I was wrong about the WC being the same as the WC uses a different engine. I hate to admitt it but I might be wrong about the RC and the WC being the same here. I will have to look more closely at some WC tractors to see.

My RC is #216, and set up for running on gasoline. It's chole rod runs full length from the foot rest on the differential to the carburator as I described in my previous post. There is a guide about mid way that is held in place by the bolt that holds the starter. I failed to mention it in my last post.

I can take and post some pictures for you, but it will take me couple days as I haven't moved to digital cameras yet.

Stay Tuned

Hi;

Congrats on your "new RC", what' it's ser # ?

The RC is set up same as WC so look for a WC to see how it is done.

The amp meter box lives under the bracket that holds the gas tank up and is also the mounting for the two front lights. The box mounts to the unerside of the bracket near the back. you should find bolt holes. The ampmeter box also holds the light switch.

The choke rod goes back all the way from the carb to the front edge of the differential. There is a a foot rest that bolts to the front of the differential just to the right of the clutch. The foot rest has a slot at its lower left corner where the rod goes through. If you want to make your own choke rod you will be hard put to come up with the correct combination of bends without one to copy.

The starter rod goes from the starter switch to the rear end as well. There should be a hole in a bracket bolted to the top left of the metal foot rest. The back end of the starter rod goes through the hole in the bracket, the front end of the starter rod goes through a lever that is hinged to the starter switch. The lever on the starter switch is about 2 inches long and pushes on the button on the starter switch when the starter rod moves. The starter rod also has a pig tail loop the back end so you can use your foot to operate it. Again if you want to make one, you really need an originl to copy.

Have fun with the cute little tractor.
