What series is my D-17

I know its a 1959 so what series does that make it??

Old; If it's a '59 it's a Series I, but the designation is not on the tractor, nor is the designation on a Series II because A-C didn't classify them by Series until the Series III. The '57-'59 D17s were all unofficial Series Is, but the early D17s and D14s had mesh grilles painted orange--the later Series Is had silver grilles with black bars. The unofficial Series II came in 1960 when A-C switched colors to Persian Orange #2 and the tractors got cream wheels. Your '59 should have the black bar grille and be Persian Orange #1, according to my book. Hope this helps.

My book shows that the seriesIII started in 1962 and the series IV started in 1964 it doesn't show a series II according to my book they started production of the D-17 in 1958.Hope this helps.
