I am looking for a front-end grill (radiator grill) for an Allis Chalmers D17. Does anyone know where a replacement can be purchased or anyone who might have an original?

Once I find the serial number, how do I go about figuring out what year & series it is? It's a diesel tractor if that makes any difference in determining the year and series.

Left side of this page has info on serial number and year of mfg. Any problem- just post the serial number here and I and others will gladly tell you what year it is, according to the lists we have. There is a Series break at 25000? and 65000 and one other, I think, but I have a (very definate) Series Three that is just over 65000. (Which would make it a Series Four, and it is definately not that-does not have an independent hydraulic pump. Dealer tells me the company was not always that accurate regarding numbers.

Thanks. I appreciate the information and help. I'll see if I can get the serial number this weekend and post it up.

The reason JMS/MN said to have your serial number ready is because the parts place will use that number to determine the series you have to match the parts you need to your tractor. Den
