i just bought a tractor that was supposed to be a wd45. the serial#208663(top of trans, front of shifter) the decals are WD but i think someone did not know what they had. it has a wide front end, remote hyd., distributor, no freeze plugs or plates on the engine block, and a bent shifter. any info would be appreciated. either way, i am satisfied with the tractor i understand the WD45 has more horsepower due to the larger engine.

The guy from MN hit all the points. A 50 year old tractor could have had almost every part changed by now, but you have a tractor with a WD45 engine block at least.

WD45 serial number started around 146xxx, in 1953. From what you describe about the shift lever, no right side engine panel, you have a WD45. Decals don't mean squat. WD could be had with wide front, and many were changed from the mag to a distributor. Either could have the remote hydraulic outlet. The WD45 engine did have more hp. It's a good tractor with a snappy governor. Responds very well when a load is put on it.
