AC 170 Oil Leak

Oil pan leaks from front of the pan. I can see a loose bead of silicone around that area, so I assume that someone permatexed it and it did not hold.

Looks like a pretty easy job to replace the gaskets all the way around. If you drain the oil and remove starter, can you get at the bolts to remove the pan?

Do new gaskets go on dry, or should I put something like permatex all the way around?

Anything else I need to be aware of? Removing the pan won't cause the oil pump to lose it's prime will it?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
