D14 power director leaking

My D14 seems to be leaking oil from around where the shaft that the power director lever pivots on exits the left side of the transmission case. It occurs to me that over the years somone may have altered the dipstick and that maybe it's leaking because the level is too high. Does anyone know what the proper fluid level in the power director clutch compartment is? Should there be a seal or o ring on this shaft, and what's involved in replacing it?

It wouldn't make any difference if it was plum full, when running, oil is splashed around anyway. There are O rings on each end of that shaft, and it's not a big chore to change them. If you have or can get a manual it explains it all in there.

Thanks Cole. I hauled out my manuals and took it apart yesterday, and you're right, it's easy. Unfortunately it turns out that it wasn'tleaking along the power director shaft, it was leaking at the PTO engage/disengage lever, which is a couple of inches lower and which would be below the oil level when it is filled to the proper level. When I opened the inspection cover, the oil level was just below the PTO engage lever shaft, since it stops leaking out when it gets that low. It also matches the external marks where oil was coming out.

So, since it's the PTO engage lever shaft seal that's leaking, how to fix it? I see that it does have an o-ring, but the shaft is attached to the shifter fork inside the body of the tractor with a roll pin, and there's no room in there to drive out the roll pin. Do I have to split the tractor to get at it? Obviously I'd rather not. Anybody have any tricks for fixing this without splitting? If I decide to just close it back up and deal with it in the spring, should I be worried about using the tractor with the power director clutch oil level being about 2 inches low?
