Pat, check out the operator's manual on how to operate the lift with the "traction-booster" system. Lift the lift lever all the way for lifting, then back off a slight bit off the detent so your pump doesn't work against the implement, but holds it in place elevated. Next position forward lets you drop the front cultivator shovels first, then all the way forward drops the rears. It's not as goofy as it sounds.

To learn how the system works, you should buy the operator manual for the CA. The implements do not attach to the lift arms with a 'Snap-Coupler'. They attach with lift latches. The 'Snap-Coupler' is the lower point of attachment- the bellhousing, under the center of the tractor.

Here it is Support for the drawbar is removed. Drawbar is removed from coulpler under the rear end. Rams are repositioned to holes in ears on the lift arms. The Allis implement connects at the bottom of the tractor where the drawbar was connected. The lift arms connect to pins on the implement. (usually via snap couplers which attach to the lift arms.)
The whole thing is a kind of upside down three point hitch. The best solution for using the lift is to purchase an aftermarker 3 point hitch conversion which will allow you to use standard 3 point accessories. The conversion is a bolt on. There are several available. One brand is "Cross".
