I have a G with rod through block. Is there any inexpensive fix useing a more common engine for a "play" tractor?

I like the concept. I wonder though if they are still in business, as the site hasn't been updated in over two years. Do you know of anyone who has one of these in use? Still a little pricey.

Your G, and all stock G's for that matter, uses a Continental N 62 engine. I believe that the Massey Harris Pony also used that engine, and I am sure that there are other applications as well. You might be as well off to try to find another working or rebuild able N 62 as try to convert as I'm sure that that would be a more costly route.

Not sure, but I think I read something about the N62 having different mounting system for G and Pony. Check it to make sure before buying a Pony engine. The only other tractor I know of that used the N62 was the "Earth Master". It mounted same as the Massey Pony. Good Luck..... .Stan

Also the Farmall Cub has that engine, but i don't think it will swap in either.

I know where there's one with an old diesel in it. I'm not sure of the brand though, maybe a Lombardini???

The engine is the only thing i hate about my "G"!!

You said it when you said it's not cheap, but I have seen their site, and it looks like they do a bang-up job. Pretty slick, and well-engineered. If only AC had done the same thing, they would probably still be in business today!(We can always dream!LOL)
I have heard the same about the mounting difference between the G and the Pony. I don't remember what it all involves, but I have been told a Pony engine won't work - period. I would think a person could find a good core block and rebuild. I know it won't be cheap, but it would probably be the cheapest and easiest way to go. If you had an old clunker G that you didn't care about, and LOTS of time to tinker, that's another story. But, I would probably be apt to try to find a good builder. You may even find a good runner, you never know. Good luck!
