I just got a ca basket case. The was stuck an I tore it down for rings and sleeves. The crank oil holes on the rod journals look like they are plugged with something, maybe felt. I have been into a lot of engines but not ac. Is this an ac thing or what? The crank mics. 1.936/ 1.9365 .Thanks in advance.

Should the oil holes be plugged? It looks to me like the engine has run a long time the way it is.
