Help with B carb mystery part

OK, took the carb apart to clean and inspect. It is split in half. As I am wire brushing the bottom half a small metal pin (looks just like a mouse terd) fell into my hand. I cant figure out where it goes. Its possible it is some stray item mabey cought in the brush, but I dont think so. Any idea what it is? Its not the float needle, Looks like it could be part of the choke latch spring, but that little thing is in there. Thanks

If my memory is correct, some older Zeneth carbs used a little round ball that had a spring behind it that was used to keep the choke in place when you set it where you wanted it when choking the tractor. Look on the outside of the carb around where the choke is and see if there is a little hole in that area.

It goes in the center of a small brass plug that goes through the bottom of the carb. What is it? and how does it go back in?
