AC WD lack of power, GAS ??

WD runs like it has water in the gas. Lack of power Running on all cylinders sounds fair, not missing. Just not resposive. Has been something that started about 15 hours ago and has gotten worse.

New Gas
Have cleaned the sediment bowl. Run carb cleaner thought carb.
Sprayed carb clean in intake side
Checked gas flow
Reset carburetor
Cleaned out the air cleaner

About a 1952 , distributor, 12 volt

Thinking about:

Taking carb apart and cleaning it.

See if manifold is leaking on the in-take. Is there a way to do this? Spray something see if engine runs different, (exhaust is leaking on the manifold, so any thing flammable is out) ?

Timming

Any and all hints or pointers would be appreciated.

Another possibility might be governor. A quick & dirty test- tie a string to the throttle rod at carburetor & hang the other end where it can be reached from the seat, leave a little slack in string. Go for a ride,. When it starts to bog down, tug gently on string. If it then picks up speed, fuel & spark are ok , governor not right. If it doesn't pick up with this test, you are back to square one, fuel or spark.
Had this happen to my 51 WD, pin had worked out, causing the weights to hang up in slow position. Weak, broken, or unhooked spring would be another cause. This may or may not be helpful in your case.

My first guess is that the points are shot and getting worse. This will cause the ignition timing to change. Do a Tune-up. Plugs, points, check timing, valve lash. Check the plug wires, distributer cap and roter. Check the voltage going to the points, should be about 6 volts. Try the cheap stuff first. Check the gasket between the carburator and the manifold.

If the exhaust side of the manifold is leaking - probably so is the intake. - new set of gaskets for the manifold.
