Is anyone familiar with a D19 with a gas engine? I have a chance to pick one up cheap, but was unsure on how strong the gas engine was. I am schooled in the d series, just a little cautious on a gas engine this big. How bad is this thing going to eat gas?

There is nothing wrong with a gas D19. My neighbor used one for years. Engine is at least as strong as the diesel. As to gas: Depends upon what you intend to do with it. Heavy tillage will use lots of gas but if you do not plan to plow or pull a large disc it should not be too expensive if in decent shape. On the plus side, gasoline models often were not used for heavy work, and usually the trans/diff willl be in better shape than that of a diesel. Too easy to turn the injector up on a diesel for more power. Something to consider as D19s do have trans/diff issues if abused.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the input dean. I will be sure to drive it around and listen for trans issues
