easy paint?

I have a model c that needs paint, it's starting to get some rust. I don't care how good it looks but it needs something to protect the metal from rusting. Is there an easier way than taking everything apart and sanding it perfect then priming and painting?

1)paint stripper the whole tractor
2)coat tractor with paint thinner then wash with water.
3)wash with 409 degreaser
4)dry
5)prime with Krylon Rough surface primer (make sure it is over 70 and the humidity is below 50%)
6)then lay a coat of Krylon rough surface Allis Chalmers orange.
7)Repeat step 6 as many times a you want
I like this kylon because it is a enamel and it will really look good in the sun and it is hard to make it run.

get your self a cheap palm electric sander that holds 1/4 sheet of sand paper. go over everything you can get to with maybe 100 or 120 grit paper. use your finger and manually get the paper into cracks and corners that the sander will not reach. --- do all this after pressure washing to get all grease and oil and dirt off. wipe the tractor dwon with solvent or just plain gasolilne- sparingly, and let dry for 10 minutes----after that, just get a couple quarts of Rustoleum red oxide primer (from farm store or Menards, Lowes, etc) and thin it 50% and shoot on everything. Let it dry for a day or two, and do the same thing with a couple quarts of your favorite variety of orange enamel paint. if you dont have a spray gun, find someone local who can do it cheaply. tell him waht you are expecting, not gloss and mirror finish.--- i like the red oxide primer. it covers solid rust, old paint, and everything else as long as it is free of dirt and grime. tape up the seat and distributor if you dont want to take them off. other wise, paint everything. this will last for several years, but dont expect it to shine or look like your truck. of course, you wont be spending $500. either.
