hey rod

thanks for the pic, it helps alot in trying to decide how to mount a blade. if anyone else has pics of a front blade on a narrow fron tc let me know. or if anyone has a c wide front for sale that would be great too.

Hi JK,

Here's a picture of the front plow lifting mount that was on my '42B: third party image
It was used to lift a V snowplow with a hydraulic handpump. You might get some ideas from it. A similar arrangement should fit a C nicely. If you want to use a handcrank, you will need to extend one a few inches in order to clear the lift cylinder. I'll leave the picture up on my site for a couple of days for you to see it and then I will delete it to save space.

hey rod

do u think your frame would work on a narrow front c? i've seen on this site and on other pictures or Ca's where people have drilled holes and bolted things to the front support, close to the hole for a hand crank. is it ok to do that on a c? i found a truck snow plow for sale but it has been there for awhile and i couldn't read the phone number on the sign. thanks rod.

jk,

I am not familiar with the details of the narrow front but I would think that it would work similarly, provided there was no interference with the steering linkage (different on the C than the B). I don't know about drilling holes in the front support. You should already have two holes in it that are used for mounting the foward end of the engine side weights. You can't use the side weights together with the mount that I have. You might be able to utilize those holes for attaching something.

i'm looking for a wide front cuz it would be easyer to mount a blade with a wide front. i fount a blade for sale but the sign was so faded i couldn't read what it said. i also realized i'd have to deal with the drag link on my c when i looked at it the other day thanks for the help.

standard mount method is to run two beams or channels about 36 inches apart from front of radiator toward rear under the tractor. about 6 inches off the ground. pivot on "mount" at rear final drive cases, or by the draw bar mount. this way any shock load is transfered to the rear axle where it should be. now you need a lift.--- easiest location is the two big munt holes in the flywheel housing just behind motor. two smal cylinders up and down, or cables with one big cylinder pushing on a rocker cam, etc. there is not much up front by the radiator to attache a lift to.
