Allis WD-45 vs farmall M

Can someone tell me how these two tractors compare? I am partial to farmall but will listen to reason. I have 7 acres and rolling hills,plan on doing some plowing, snow removal, and some other general uses on the area.

We have both, a WD with m&w pistons and a super-m. Both are great tractors. The advantage of the Super M is it has a bit more weight and hp and can pull more than the wd. The superM also has power steering and that is a complete joy to have over the hard steering of our WD.

The advantages of the WD is that it has a higher output for its hydrolics than the m or super m .
We can lift our 4 row planter up with no problem with the wd and had to get a bigger cylinder just so the m could get the planter off the ground. If you are going to get a loader, the wd is easier to attach equipment and again can lift more than the m. But, try and get one with power steering. A wd with a loaded bucket full of dirt is not to much fun to steer around.
Also, the wd has live pto, a very nice advantage to have and the wd has a very handy and reliable hand clutch that is a wonder to use.

So if you can find a wd with power steering I would definitly go with that. Just my opinion.

The WD45 would be the handier of the two. The WD series has a hand clutch and foot clutch. That hand clutch stops the forward motion of the tractor. The hand clutch comes in very handy - live hydraulics and bush hoging. 7 acres - You could get by with a smaller tractor like the H or C. A Super C would be very nice.

The Farmall M is a big old tractor with a little bit of horse power. The AC WD45 is a smaller tractor with a lot more horse power. I guess there are maybe a few times when the size and weight of the M would give it a slight advantage, but most of the time the smaller size and extra horse power of the 45 will make it the winner. The snap coupler system of the AC is very good if you can find snap coupler equipment. The AC can also be converted to 3 point hitch pretty easy and cheap. There just isn't much bad to be said about a WD45.
