I've got a B that is relegated to belly mowing and tugging stuff around. Great little tractor, but it can do more than what I'm using it for. This weekend I was augering holes in sand with a Deere, and using the loader to lower railroad ties into the holes. Looks like I'm gonna be driving the ties, because the holes collapse (sand). But, I have a 3 point boom lift that is rated at 500 lbs, and those ties weigh far less than that, and far more than I care to lift. I know that B can handle that, and mounted that boom to the outside holes of the drawbar by using 2" drop hitches turned sideways so that the box that fits in the hitch reciever is bolted to the drawbar, and the hitches where the balls go actually hold the hoist pins (perfect fit), and used big angle iron mounted to the B frame, and a short adjustable center link from the flat bar to the boom hoist. It works to lug those ties around, but it's rigid, and I've gotta use pulleys to lift the ties. It sure would be easier with hydraulics, and sure would speed things up if both tractors had hydraulics instead of one.I searched the archives, and unless I over-looked it, saw nothing about the B and Hydraulics. Then I looked at photos of the B, and saw loaders (hydraulics), and one that said it had a 3 point, but it was a side view, and couldn't get a look at the hitch, or where the hydraulics were powered from - I'd think off of the PTO, but couldn't get a look. Sooooo , the B and hydraulics? Point me to the B leader, and let's see what can be done. I can't be on two tractors at once, and two CAN get the job done faster than one.
