Have old 1942 tractor. Needs new tires. Proably will work fine. Just been sitting about 18 yrs. Husband passed and need to know what value to place on it.

Thanks for any information

In 1942 Allis Chalmers made several models. The most common were B, C and WC. A tractor that has been sitting for 18 years probably won"t work fine even if it had new tires. Unless it is in exceptional condition and you find out a lot more about it than just that it was made in 1942, I"d guess that $500 would be near top dollar. Of course that is only a guess because you"ve really given us very little to go on.

Look at the picture archives for something that looks about like it. When you find that, we can be much more help with where to find serial numbers that will tell the exact model and age. Tractors do not have VIN like cars do all in the same place to make it easy. Different companies put their numbers in different places depending on the model.

what size are the rear wheels?
how many gears does the trans have?
is there a c-channle frame around the motor and radiator?
is it a wide front or narrow front axle?
