Found an ad for a B with belly mower... Says, 2 point, wide front end, good rubber, runs great $1500 or best offer.... What should I look for? Is the serial number located on the top of the transmission case? Will this tell me the year of manuf..... Thanks in advance, Bill

if the tires are decent, paint covers the tractor, no major rust, and the deck is in good condition, your price is decent. if motor smokes or tires are shot, need to talk some.---- the B is a very nice small tractor, wide front wishbone axle is standard. the hydraulics and electric start are a plus. go for it.

While the adjustable wide front was available in some (not all) years for the B, the wishbone wide front axle is the standard B front axle.

Hi Bill, we bought this B about 6 years ago ($1700.00). Had to do some work on her but nothing major, we painted it not for show just to keep her clean, has been a good tractor. We use it mainly for mowing our small (390 trees) orchard It just keeps purring along with minimal maint.According to the S/N it's a 1947.

Good Luck with your decision I think you will like the "B"
