mmb;

There were 2 Persian Oranges and the Corporate Orange. Persian Orange #1 was an orange-orange and used until 1960, when A-C switched to Persian Orange #2, which had more red in it. Corporate Orange had more red still, and was used from 1977-up on the 'black chassis' tractors. Hope this helps.

mmb, I think the other guys missed your point. I have noticed that the new AGCO orange is similar to PO #1, but not sure how close, I haven"t directly compared the two.

You're right John but maybe I should've made my post a little clearer as to what I wondered about. Those subtle changes that show up are sometimes confusing. For the most part I guess, orange is orange. I have a Massey Harris that I painted a darker red (than original MH) and some guys shake their heads. Actually, I did it on purpose because I liked the darker red and was tiring of the original having done other MH's in the correct red.

Persian Orange #1 until 1960, then Persian Orange #2 until 1985, then Corporate Orange. Corporate Orange is the shiniest.

the original pursian orange #1 was used till 1958 and it is the color of a pumpkin. the D series starting about 1959 used PO #2 which is more of an orage color. later in the mid 1970s they switched to corporate orange which is a redish color.
