Have a real nice D10. Would like to know approximate value. It has a snap coupler hitch.

The snap coupler vs 3 point system could be an issue on a tractor bought for collection purposes. I don"t think it would be on a tractor bought for use. I cost about $300.-$400. to add a conversion kit if the tractor does not already have one. THEN you can use both 3 point and snap coupler implements, which is the best possible situation. So if there is a $1,000. difference in value, and you add $400. for a conversion, that would leave you with the most usable tractor and $600. still in your pocket. Win-win situation!

Dooley, the only thing is the snap coupler could be an issue. I just bought a raffle ticket here in west central Ohio for a fully restored D-10 at an antique tractor show or 3000$ cash and I'm sure it is a snap coupler if it was a 3pt hitch I'm sure it would bring 4000 or whatever. That snap coupler is like the Fast hitch on an IH. My two cents worth.PS, my wife knows I never buy a raffle ticket for anything but I would for a D-10 even a snap coupler or a D-21. Good Luck.

there is a dealer near haven ks i think--used to have lots of AC equipment and the 10 and 12's would be listed for 3000 and up--much to steep for this poor guy--but they never stayed around long

Dooley, The last one of these that I've seen sell was back in 1992. Good shape (straight tin, good but faded paint, 80% rear tires, near new fronts, engine ran very good) Brought $2400 at a Farn Sale. A friend of mine has a D12 (the 2 row version) that I don't think CAN be bought. Hope this helps.

The series would also have quite a lot to do with the pricing, in addition to condition and to some degree location. Sorry, but "real nice" doesn"t really tell us enough to even make a ball park guess. I would feel however that $1000. would be on the VERY low side of what one could expect at a well attended auction in my area.

That's nice of you to offer, but $1,000. is not anywhere near the true value of the tractor on the open market. It's kind of like the fact that I wouldn't give a dollar for a horse or take one of someone offered to give me one, just because I don't WANT a horse, not because it wouldn't be worth any more than that on the open market. Most people, when they ask, are looking for a fair market value, which is plenty hard enough to give even with a good description. They are not really interested in what I'll call pawn shop value, or I'll give you a little something for it but I don't really want it.

Thanks for the comments Melvin. I am aware that there are people who try to take advantage of a situation. You are right all I want is a fair market value for my own information. The tractor is not for sale nor do I plan to sell it. Thanks Again for your comments

Nope, the man asked my opinion and I gave it based on the facts that were presented. I agree that a D10 in the right place in the right condition will be significantly more valuable, but I was dealing with the facts at hand. I"m not interested in purchasing his tractor, had I been interested I would have emailed him.
