I have a 38 "B" in need of a new rear tire. When I took a close look at it, I saw that the wheel isn't the correct wheel for a "B". It is a split rim. The other side is correct. Evidently, the wheel was "rigged" to fit, using some other type of mounting cleats and sheet metal shims. I'm putting new rims on the back, but need the 4 mounting cleats for the A/C "B". Does anyone out there maybe have 4 of these or know where I can get them? If you can help, reply on here and I'll contact you. Thanks

MrB, It sounds as though I have one of those early split rims on one side, and a later set-up on the other. My serial number is B3711, (relitively low for that year), and yes, the cleats do look like horse shoes. the older cleats are sort of beveled on the ends, and the newer cleats are hollowed out to ride over a ridge on the wheel, four of them. I'll have no need for the old one, and if you live close enough, you can come and get it.

The early 38s did uese a split rim with ecentricts that resemble a horseshoe. I would like to find another good one to match the one I have for ours, serial #B870

Barry- the parts you want are called ecentrics. There are 4 per wheel. Two are stationary 1/2 moon clamps. the other two are "ecentrics" and have a special cam-bolt that rotates the ecentic outward as you turn the bolt head. I have seen sets on e-bay tractor area under "allis". there are also a few guys selling used parts on this site or allischalmers dot com.
