a couple of weeks ago i bought a 1955 wd45 diesel in pretty good shape for the motor has totally been rebuilt, wide front end,belt pulley, no power steering. My plans are new front tires but i want to know what the original front tire dimensions are? also when and how should I use my intake air heater?also were can i find rear and from wheelweights? and how do i engage my belt pully because the pto spins but not the pulley.im going to do a litlle body work and paint it myself and just have to replace the steering wheel i paid 2600 dollars for it i think i got a good deal what would u think starts and runs and drives great only it shifts hard sometimes it grinds a little i dont know why maybe i have to make my clutch lever push in farther? i plan on showing it and pulling it and ansewers to my questions would help me out alot thanks in advance.

It doesn't sound like you want to use the belt pulley. If you don't, leave it out. If you put it in, your shifting will get even harder. Recommend all shifting be done with the foot clutch. I occasionally do some with the hand clutch but it takes technique. Usually shifting is best accomplished stopped. However, I can usually go between, 2, 3, and four with minimal noise if there isn't a load.

Push clutch pedal down and engage pedal lock. Loosen belt pulley retainig screw(just inside frame behind pulley) there should bean arrow on tractor frame and pulley tube. Align thes arrows to obtain proper gear mesh.Tighten lock screw and jam nut. release clutch oedal. The pulley will run when the clutch is out and the clutch can be locked out to keep pulley from turning. The owners manually states that the engine muct be shut off to engage or disengage pulley or to work on any belt driven equipment. This pulley is not connected to the power takeoff. As for it shifting hard for risk of asking the obvious are you using the foot clutch to shift gears? I know some will say you don"t have too but the book say to use the foot clutch (engine clutch) when putting transmission in gear.

I would go to your nearest AGCO Allis dealer and get yourself an owners manual. It will answer all your questions and probably some you never thought of!
