Does anyone have a recommendation on the rim size for 11.2 x 24 tires?

Per the Wheel and Rim Manufacturers Association 10" is recommended, but 9" is still okay.

Does 10" seem a little wide?

When I got my C it had 12.4's mounted on 9" rims. The rims were bad and only one tire was good. I'll probably sell the 12.4 since it's an Armstrong and I can find a match. Hate to do this because the tire is in excellent condition. Still has the mold wiskers.

Also, purchased a new set of 10" four loop rims that I plan to return. Did a fit check before buying or mounting any tires. They don't fit the wheels!

Now I'm contemplating whether to spend the money and buy a set of single bevel/four-humpers from Miller Tire.

Please post your recomendations on tires and rims.

Correction: "I cannot find a match for the Armstrong tire".

For what it is worth, my AC when I got it had tires marked 11.2/10-24 and I was always told that the first number 11.2 is the tire, and the 10 is the rim width. I believe the tires at that time were bridgestones. The current tires have only the 11.2 callout.

Our B has 11.2s on 9" rims and they look like a good match to my eyes although a bit oversize for the tractor. I had not heard of differences in the 4 loop rims, I thought they were all the same. The loop rims don't take anything away from the tractor IMO unless you need to adjust the tread width for some reason. Also don't can the original wedges and eccentric bolts, put them on Ebay and be surprised by how much money you will get.

Thanks Butch,

Nice tractor. Nice wheels. Are the rims really four loop? It's hard to tell from the photo.

we always bought replacement rims that were made for an international I think it was an A. They had 4 loops and lined up perfectly. They were also 1/3 the price.

11.2 is the current tire size marking. Old size tire was 10 inch. Refers to the width of the rim. Generally you can go one inch wider or narrower than the rim and still get a good fit. 11.2 is the cross-sectional dimension of the tire- the 'bulge'. So a current 11.2 is the old ten inch wide tire.
