Model C has a 3 speed tranny, CA is a 4 speed, and has Power Shift rear wheels. Slightly better hydraulics, and the possibility of a Snap-Coupler hitch for mounted implements. Bit more power from basically the same engine.

CAs will have 4 speeds, possibly a clutch in the right rear axle housing, will say CA in the serial no. which is by the shift lever. C will say C and then the number. CAs had the final drives angled slightly backward making the wheelbase longer, Cs finals were directly under the axle housing. CAs had power shift rear wheels, Cs did not. By now, 50 years later tractors can be made up of parts from several different tractors. Have one with a C rear end and transmission, B front with a B wide adjustable front axle. Why, needed third gear and the whole rear end and transmission was cheaper than two new gears and the parts tractor parts had foot brakes too, original B did not. Then swapped out the engine for a newer one from a later B. Tractor has parts from 3 different ones. I expect that by now there are many like this. You never know what you will find. Check the engine no. too.

Here's a link to a nice site that has some great photos of AC tractors. If you look at the C pics, the 2nd and 3rd photos are of my Model C (before and after restoration).
