I was just at the Allis Chalmers.com website and I read on there that Allis maintained in office in Milwuakee until January 1999. Why was this? If the company sold off in 1985, why did they need an office until 1999? If anyone can help me out with this I would appreciate it.

The main reason that the office was maintained was to oversee the disposition of assets and the employee pension fund. It would really be tough working somewhere for 14 years knowing that the game was over and you were serving as the undertaker.
